15 Tips for Young People



1. Recognize that you are not as smart as you think you are.
You might be able to get by on your intelligence now, but that will not last forever. Practice good study habits. Learn to think critically.


2. You and your high school sweetheart probably won’t be together forever, and that is okay.
Put your own future first. Try finding out who you are and what you want to be before making commitments.


3. Credit cards are not magic money.
Don’t get a credit card until you are ready to use it responsibly.


4. Don’t pick up smoking.
Don’t do it. If you already do, quit now.


5. Travel when you get the chance.
Experience as much as you can before you have major responsibilities.


6. Take care of your face.
Wear sunscreen. Clean your pillowcase regularly (especially if you get acne). Stop touching your face so much.


7. Use protection.
STDs are bad. Pregnancy is expensive.


8. Workout a little bit.
Try to get yourself into shape while you are still young. It gets harder and harder the older you get.


9. Be nice to your parents.
You might not find them cool now, but you will miss them like hell when they are gone.


10. You are not entitled to everything you want
. Do not expect the world or anybody else to give you whatever you want. You have to earn it yourself.


11. Save a little money when you can.
Get in the mindset of putting a little money aside whenever possible. Practice frugal habits.


12. Do not be afraid to be different.
High school kids think they are a lot cooler than they are. Avoid the hive mentality. Be your own person. Pursue your own interests.


13. Learn to cook a few dishes.
Have your parents teach you if they can. It will come in handy when you are on your own.


14. What you do in high school will not matter to anyone in ten years.
Do not stress so much about grades or making the varsity team.


15. Listen more than you speak. You can learn a lot from other people’s experiences and mistakes.

Dalawang saknong na tula na may tayutay, sukat at tugma. Tula para sa aking mga kaibigan =)) Pagpasensyahan at ako’y hindi propesiyonal. Ito ay base lamang sa aking nalaman, natutunan at naisipan.

I.
Ako man ay parang inyong alilang kanin,
Alam kong hindi niyo ako lilisanin
Malayo man na tila isang bituin
Nandiyan kayo lagi ‘pag dumidilim.

II.
Kayong aking mga kaharimang suklay
Ito ay laging i-krus niyo sa kamay
Kahit kayo’y laging dalawa ang bibig
Hindi ko kayo ililista sa tubig

Mga Kahulugan ng Tayutay na ibinigay :

Alilang kanin – Hindi pinapasweldo pero pinapakain
Kaharimang Suklay – Matatalik na kaibigan; Kaibigan
I-krus sa kamay – Laging Tandaan; Isa-ulo;
Dalawa ang bibig – Sobrang Madaldal;  Matalak
Ililista sa tubig – Kakalimutan; Iiwan; Lilisanin

Paliwanag ng ilang linya sa saknong (Malayang Pagsusulat) =)) :

Ako man ay parang inyong alilang kaninYung mga kaibigan ko kasi, sila yung nililibre ako, pinapakain ako pag walang lunch. O kaya naman minsan kumukuha ako ng pagkain sa kanila / nakikikain ^^ Syempre nagpapasalamat ako. Hindi naman nila ako pinapasahod o binibigyan ng pera, pinapakain lang paminsan-minsan.

Alam kong hindi niyo ako lilisanin– Bilang isang matalik na kaibigan. Kahit anong dumating na problema, magkagalit man kayo o kaya magkatampuhan (etc..) Magkakabati pa rin kayo kasi miss niyo ang isa’t isa at hindi niyo kaya mawala/makalimutan ang pagsasama niyo. Hindi ba??

Malayo man na tila isang bituin … Nandiyan kayo lagi ‘pag dumidilim – Kahit hindi ko sila naging kaklase ng daawang taon na .. Kahit malayo sila, nakikita ko sila lagi sa dilim dahil sa liwanag nila. Alam kong laging nandiyan sila para sa akin kapag malungkot ako o kaya pag may problema at unos na dumating sa ‘kin. At tuwing hindi na kadiliman, nandiyan pa rin naman sila bilang araw. =))
Ika nga sa linya ng isang kanta: Magkalayong agwat.. gagawin ang lahat

Kayong aking mga kaharimang suklay… Ito ay laging i-krus niyo sa kama … Kahit kayo’y laging dalawa ang bibig … Hindi ko kayo ililista sa tubig – Kahit napaka talak niyo, daldal at kulit minsan, hindi iyon sapat na dahilan upang kalimutan ko kayo. Sana lagi niyong tatandaan ang linyang iyon.

2014 NUTRITION MONTH - Kalamidad Paghandaan : Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan [FAQ]

What is Nutrition Month (NM)? 

- Nutrition Month is the annual campaign held every July to create greater awareness on
nutrition among Filipinos. It is mandated under Presidential Decree 491 or the Nutrition
Act of the Philippines. The National Nutrition Council (NNC) coordinates the nationwide
campaign including the identification of an annual theme to focus on a priority nutrition
concern.

[Tagalog] Ang Nutrition Month ay isang pagkakampanya sa tuwing buwan ng Hulyo upang gawing alerto ang kalusugan ng mamamayang filipino. Ito ay isang batas sa Pilipinas na tinatawag na Presidential Decree 491 or the Nutrition Act of the Philippines. Kadalasang ito ay nakatuon tungkol sa ating kalusugan.

2. What is the theme for 2014? 

The 40th Nutrition Month campaign focuses on nutrition in emergencies with the theme
“Kalamidad paghandaan: Gutom at malnutrisyon agapan!” (Prepare for emergencies
to prevent hunger and malnutrition!) The focus on nutrition in emergencies aims to
provide the venue for the general public to realize the importance of preparedness
during emergencies, how to respond and what recovery measures can be taken to
prevent death and worsening of malnutrition of affected population groups.

The objectives of this year’s campaign are to:

a. Promote interventions to address nutritional needs in emergencies and disasters
including preparedness, response and recovery;
b. Mobilize responders particularly the local nutrition clusters and other
stakeholders to address gaps in nutrition in emergency response from national
to barangay levels; and,
c. Increase awareness among families and individuals on coping and resiliency
strategies to prevent malnutrition and worsening of nutritional status in times of
emergencies and disasters.

Kalamidad Paghandaan : Gutom at Malnutrisyon agapan

Kailangan ng Aksyon ng mga mamamayan lalo na ang gobyerno upang maiwasan ang mga paghihirap ng mamamayan pagdating ng kalamidad. Hindi lamang dapat ang gobyerno ang maghanda, dapat tayo rin ay dapat maghanda dahil anumang oras ay maaaring dumating ang isang kalamidad.
